Your Opportunity

On behalf of our client in the United Arab Emirates, we are looking for a chartered Systems Engineer to join our organisation in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates. This remarkable role offers a unique opportunity to work on several exciting projects in the region.

 

The Systems Engineer will provide systems engineering, architecture definition and requirements management in support of space programmes, in accordance with ISO 15288 : 2023 and the INCOSE technical processes, stakeholder needs and requirements definition, system requirements definition, system architecture definition and design definition process and system analysis.

 

The hiring for this position is subject to contract award.

Main Responsibilities

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for working in an open, collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, in active cooperation with other staff of our client organization and government entities, as well as in cooperation with industry and research communities.

 

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

  • Engage with a diverse group of stakeholders, including clients, project managers, and cross-functional teams, to understand and address their needs and concerns.

  • Translate complex technical engineering concepts into clear, accessible language tailored to the audience's level of technical understanding.

  • Conduct regular meetings, presentations, and workshops to facilitate communication and ensure stakeholders are informed and aligned with project goals and progress.

  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders to ensure mutual understanding and successful project outcomes.

 

Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for Complex Systems

  • Utilize MBSE methodologies to support the design, development, and validation of complex systems, ensuring coherence and integration across all system components.

  • Define system architecture by creating detailed models that capture the functional, logical, and physical aspects of the system.

  • Transform high-level system requirements into comprehensive architectural representations, ensuring traceability and alignment with project objectives.

 

MBSE Tools and Environment Management

  • Establish and configure the MBSE tool environment to support efficient system modelling and analysis activities.

  • Manage the configuration of MBSE tools, ensuring that they are properly integrated with other engineering and project management software.

  • Develop and maintain documentation and training materials for MBSE tools to ensure team members can effectively utilize them.

  • Continuously monitor and update the MBSE environment to incorporate new tools, methodologies, and best practices as they evolve.

 

Requirements Management and Transformation

  • Oversee the end-to-end requirements management process, from initial capture and analysis to verification and validation.

  • Transform stakeholder and system requirements into detailed, actionable specifications within the system domain.

  • Ensure that all requirements are accurately documented, traceable, and linked to corresponding system components and test cases.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that requirements are fully understood and incorporated into system design and development activities.

  • Facilitate requirements reviews and audits to ensure compliance with project standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform trade-off analyses and evaluate alternative architectures to optimize system performance and meet stakeholder requirements.

Successful Candidate

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline

  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional

  • Engineering Chartership

  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Systems Engineer. Experience with space systems required.

  • Early-stage system definition and systems engineering MBSE approaches

  • Requirements management

  • System Architecture Definition

  • Design Definition Process and System Analysis Process

  • Experience with large and complex projects

  • Stakeholder engagement

  • Space systems experience is preferred

  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English

  • Must be eligible for UAE residency and a UAE security clearance

  • Must be prepared to travel outside of the UAE, including for extended periods
