On behalf of our client, ESOC, we are looking for a skilled Service Design Architect join our team distributed over the ESOC site, in Germany.

 

Main Responsibilities

As Service Design Architect you will concentrate your activities on the following:

  • Work closely with client stakeholders to maintain an overview of their IT landscape. Understand the big picture and be able to use this knowledge to design new architectures.
  • Analyse the business requirements & constrains originating from the customer and IT operations.
  • Develop and maintain architecture strategies and technical roadmaps.
  • Define solution designs.
  • Define and manage projects that implement solutions by engaging with supplier teams, business stakeholders and external vendors. 
  • Prepare project briefs.
  • Develop implementation and roll-out strategies, while managing the balance between delivery and risk.
  • Review and approve technical documents produced by engineers and supplier teams.
  • Expand your network with partners and 3rd Party providers and use this network to stimulate decision-making and problem solving.
  • Follow new technology products and trends in order to incorporate them into potential solutions.

Successful Candidate

Do you think you are the person we are looking for? See below what experience or knowledge you should bring:

  • Enterprise Storage and Backup architectures.
  • Software Defined Storage (Red Hat Ceph).
  • Public Cloud Storage (e.g. AWS S3, EFS, EBS).
  • Storage integration with containers (K8s, Rook, VMware CSE).
  • SQL and NoSQL database technologies and DBaaS solutions: MySQL, MariaDB.
  • Platforms for Big Data Analytics (Hadoop, Spark).

In addition:

  • Knowledge of modern NoSQL solution like InfluxDB, TimescaleDB, MongoDB is not required but it would be an asset.
  • Domain knowledge in Space systems or satellite operations will help in understanding our client, but is not essential.
  • familiar with ITIL Service Management Processes and Project Management techniques required, certification a plus.
  • Excellent command of English (written/spoken).
  • Experience and confidence in writing technical documentation, presenting to various stakeholders (management, users, IT Engineers, M&O).
  • Team player and used to take ownership and accountability for projects and activities.
