On behalf of our customer EUMETSAT, we are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer. You would be working on-site at EUMETSAT’s site in Darmstadt, with a generous distribution of working hours into the hybrid model.
Your mission is to support the QA/PA processes on the Satellite Ground Segment for the Meteosat Third Generation mission.
Main Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Implement EUMETSAT QA policies in assigned areas, in accordance with the MTG System QA plan and all relevant applicable standards, technical and QA documents, procedures and working practices that are applicable to the ongoing project phrase(s)
- Ensure that the applicable MTG processes are implemented in accordance with their relevant QA working practices and procedures
- Contribute to the maintenance of GEO QA working practices and procedures, suggest and support the establishment of improvements of the available QA documentation, aiming at process efficiency and synergy
- Contribute to the establishment of metrics to measure the effectiveness of the main processes within the assigned areas. Provide pro-active suggestions for process improvement, based on these metrics and other observations
- Provide QA service to the MTG System and Ground Segment Team(s), including MTG OPIT team, in order to ensure that Quality Assurance policies and methods are taken into account during all involved lifecycle phases
- Coordinate and conduct the support to test campaigns, including TRR, test witnessing and TRB in the assigned areas of the MTG programmes
- Perform incoming inspection of the MTG deliverables in the assigned areas
- Perform Mandatory and Key Inspection Points, MIPs/KIPs, of the assigned products as required
- Coordinate and support Delivery Review Board meetings
- Provide dedicated QA service to the production of the technical and programmatic documents relevant to the MTG Programme, MTG System and Ground Segment and its facilities and elements
- Critically review technical and management documents issued in support to the MTG GS Facilities procurement
- Provide service, as Review secretary, to the Programme Reviews and Check Points planned for MTG and in adherence with the applicable requirements and procedures, ensuring that the relevant Organisation Note arrangements are correctly implemented, and that the support tool to be used for managing the Review Item Discrepancy (RID) during the Reviews is properly configured and available
- Contribute to the MTG GS Facilities procurement activities and the connected processes, ensuring that the applicable QA requirements, as established in are correctly implemented
- Provide service to QA activities during the Facilities development and production process, interfacing with the EUMETSAT Technical Officer(s), the relevant cross-divisional EUMETSAT Teams and with the Industry Quality Assurance (QA)/Product Assurance (PA) counterparts
- Contribute to the monitoring of the implementation of the agreed QA Plans and procedures within the Industry and others Organisations activities, including Sub-tiers
- Coordinate the anomaly and non-conformances review process in the assigned areas
- Contribute to the preparation and conduct of QA audits on Industry and within EUMETSAT in the areas connected with MTG GS activities, in line with the MTG GS Service contracts/ Suppliers Quality Assurance Audit Plan
- Contribute to the regular reporting to the MTG System and Ground Segment QA Engineer, to the GEO QA Manager, and to the relevant MTG managers concerned on all QA aspects related to allocated areas of activities
- Provide inputs related to the service and attend to the weekly GEO QA Team co-ordination meetings and programme meetings as required
- Shall perform ad-hoc tasks with the scope of this contract and which may become necessary, in the course of the contract duration. These additional tasks will be discussed and mutually agreed between the TO and the SLM. Once agreed the additional tasks will be ordered via the relevant WP.
Successful Candidate
Do you think you are the person we are looking for? See below what experience or knowledge you should bring:
- University degree or equivalent in Engineering, Physics, Computer Sciences or a related discipline
- At least 3 years’ experience in Quality and Product Assurance (QA/PA) in Aerospace or Space Programmes
- Significant hands-on experience in QA/PA processes definition, implementation, monitoring and control, and QA/PA performance metrics
- Knowledge and application of aerospace/space Product and Quality Assurance standards
- Knowledge of and experience in applying ISO 9001 and ECSS Standards
- Significant experience in the implementation of QA policies and methods in procurement contracts for complex products such as ground segment systems
- Experience in providing QA support to SW products throughout their complete development lifecycle. Experience in following HW/SW products integration and verification
- Sound experience in driving Anomaly and Non-conformity processes, including the applicable ARB/NRB boards, with all necessary stakeholders
- Extended experience in conducting incoming inspection, mandatory inspection points and key inspection points of deliverables (HW and SW) composing the MTG programme
- Sound experience in supporting delivery review including the relevant DRB boards and the preparation of the relevant release notes
- Extended experience in conducting TRR, test witnessing and TRB involving complex systems and numerous stakeholders
- Significant hands-on experience in using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Capability of producing and releasing in autonomy Minutes of Meetings and QA reports;
- Experience in application of risk management and lessons learned processes;
- Very good attitude to team working
- Strong interpersonal and mediation skills
Advantageous nice to have:
- Experience on QA/PA Processes on satellite Ground Segments
- Experience in usage of collaborative tools such as Jira, Confluence
- Advanced Excel knowledge
- Medium knowledge in MATLAB
- Experience of working in programmes involving different partners and/or stakeholders
