On behalf of our client, the European Space Agency, we are looking for a skilled Launch System Electrical Avionics Engineer  to join our team at the esteemed ESA-HQ site, in Paris - France. The On-Board Computer & Data Handling Section provides critical support to ESA projects and leads R&D in advanced on-board data handling solutions. We specialize in developing architectures and systems for launchers, platforms, and payloads, with a focus on key technologies such as on-board computers, data interfaces, and real-time system design.

Main Responsibilities

  • A diverse range of support tasks is required to be carried out within the above tasks, encompassing hardware, software and system aspects in support to the Ariane 6 project. These can be grouped within the following main headings:
  • Definition of technical specifications for the and procurement of HW/SW items.
  • Evaluation of verification analyses and reports.
  • Participation in reviews and meetings.
  • Overseeing the Launch System Combined Tests and Launch Campaign qualification tasks.
  • Evaluation of change proposals and waivers for electrical ground/board interfaces.
  • Validation and writing of Electrical Operational Requirements and Specific Test Requests.
  • Writing of Launch System Electrical definition and justification files.

Successful Candidate

  • A Master or PhD degree or equivalent , with a strong knowledge and experience in the domain.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems architectures of a launch system.
  • Knowledge of TTE protocol and its implementation.
  • Knowledge of main serial data exchange protocols and end-to-end wired measurement chains.
  • Understanding of main Launch System RF communications.
  • Experience in equipment procurement, sub-systems integration and testing.
  • Experience in spacecraft project support in particular related to spacecraft data handling.
  • Knowledge of the space environment, related standards and space quality requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are needed, together with a high degree organizational and communication abilities, and comfortable with working in a diverse and multinational team environment.
  • Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of another EU member state language is an asset.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU.
