This role involves close collaboration with the OHB Ground Segment (GS) team to ensure the optimal and stable performance of the satellite optical sensor and its derived products, including Level 1 radiometrically and geometrically calibrated data, as well as Level 2 orthorectified images
The vacancy is provisional for it is subject to project approval
Main Responsibilities

- Acquiring imagery over specific reference target sites under predefined conditions for quality assessment and instrument calibration. The candidate will contribute to the selection and refinement of those reference sites.
- Estimate periodically a wide range of in-flight calibration parameters such as radiometric gains, non-uniformity correction, bad pixel detection, line-of-sight calibration, geo bias calibration, focusing.
- Assess and validate the image quality of the derived satellite products. This includes the estimation of key image quality parameters, namely, MTF, GSD, SNR, GIQE, geolocation accuracy.
- Monitor the stability of those calibration and image quality parameters and ensure that a recalibration is performed as soon as sudden temporal changes are detected.
- Contribute to the definition and evolution of the relevant calibration methods and algorithms to improve performances and efficiency.
- Support the detection and resolution of instrument in-flight anomalies and proactively identify remedy actions in strong liaison with the GS team.
- Monitor the quality and stability of the resulting Level 1, radiometrically and geometrically corrected images, and Level 2, orthorectified products.
